The development of Kwa Mashu Town Centre involved urban regeneration strategies to reclaim wasted land and to invest in the town by intensifying and adding to exising urban fabric.

Pedestrian movement and the village ideal were determinant factors in creating a powerful public node that would supplement contemporary and future economic activities.
